I love buying hair products. As a matter of fact, I will knock you over if there was only one product on the shelf that we both wanted. However, lately I’ve been into this whole do it yourself thing… saving coins you know…which brings me to my rosemary infused coconut oil. I had some rosemary in my garden and it hit me one day to mix my coconut oil with the rosemary. It has been the best idea I’ve had so far!
How To Make It:
First, I grabbed some rosemary leaves from my garden and placed it in a bowl. If you don’t have a garden I strongly recommend just going to Home Depot and buying a small rosemary plant. It is way cheaper to grow the herb than to constantly buy it every time you want to create this oil. It is inexpensive and you can put your green thumb to good use.
Next, I added a half a cup of coconut oil to the rosemary leaves.
I covered the mixture with a lid and allowed it to sit on a windowsill for seven days. The warmth from the sun naturally melted the coconut oil. After three days the rosemary infused coconut oil was ready to use.
How To Use It:
I’ve used this oil as a pre-poo, mid-week scalp massage oil, , hot oil treatment, and as a morning moisturizing hair hydration agent. You can also add some raw sugar to it and create an exfoliating body scrub. You can pretty much use it however you like.
