The Doux hair care products are a natural hair game-changer right now in 2020. Let’s be honest. There are thousands of hair care products bumping one another on the shelves at your local Target, Sally’s, and Walmart. Each one promoting organic ingredients, amazing benefits, and hair outcomes. So what is a curly girl supposed to do?
Do you fill your cart up with everything you see? Of course not!
Well, unless you’re a recovering product junkie like me and enjoy playing the trial and error game with your tresses.
But eventually, you have to give that up too.
It isn’t fiscally responsible or beneficial to the overall outcomes of promoting healthy hair.
If the above situation sounds like a hair dilemma you’ve been in, don’t worry girl I’ve been there too.
I’m actually still learning.
THE DOUX
Allow me to introduce you to the most fly haircare line around, The Doux.
No really, the packaging is DOPE! The old school era will take you back into the ’90s and make you reminisce on your “School Daze”.
The Doux haircare line includes a range of products that are essential for your wash day to daily hair routines. Each product has a trendy name like Bonita Afro Balm which is a multi-purpose styling cream, and Swag Goo which is designed to keep your untamed edges in full control.
My favorite product, however, is the Mousse Def.
The fact that it’s hard to find on the shelves speaks for itself. No lye.
I literally had to get up at 7 am one morning to secure me a bottle at my local Walmart. BUT it is a styling staple that I must have in my hair stash because it has a conditioning agent, defines my twist outs, and keeps my curls looking fresh to def.
Hands down, this hair care line stands out amongst the crowds and that’s the unfiltered truth
.As a result of using their mousse, I’ve also tried The Doux cleansers, conditioners, and stylers which work well on my hair. T
hat’s why I can wholeheartedly say that I love The Doux haircare line. No more bouncing between brands for me.
Maya Smith
On the flip side, it wasn’t just the quality products that drew me into this brand. It actually was the founder and team behind the brand that got my full attention.
Maya Smith is the founder of the Doux but she doesn’t carry the brand on her own. She has an amazing team that rocks with her called “The Doux Gang”.
The Doux Gang is available to answer any question you may have about their products and services. Their willingness to help creates the ultimate customer care experience.
Maya is constantly dropping gems on healthy hair care practices to any natural who is willing to listen.
For years, I thought I was doing right by my hair and I truly wasn’t. It wasn’t until I began studying the science behind hair and educating myself this year that I had a real awakening to understanding my strands. Maya gave me a few tips and tricks on how to take care of my natural hair.
Don’t worry, I got you. I dropped a few of her videos down below.
Trust me when I tell you that she knows her stuff. She has been a certified master stylist for over 20 years.
If you have a question, Maya will graciously let you express your concerns before dropping the 411 on hair care products and how to use them properly.
When talking curly to Maya, she informed me that, “Ingredients matter but the formulation reigns supreme. The way that those ingredients come together in the formula, what they do together; matters more than individual ingredients.
Sucka Free Basics
According to Maya, when it comes to your wash day routine you should cleanse, condition, treat, and style. We must learn to cater to our hair needs.
But how do I know what those needs are? I’m glad you asked.
Maya can explain this way better than I can.
Here are a few things you should know and do.
